Residential Solar Power Solutions

With energy prices rising and the reality of an unstable and unreliable grid, homeowners are looking for ways to save money on their utility bills and provide some backup during grid outages.

Each system is individually calculated and designed according to your requirement.
To propose the best and most cost-effective solution - we would need to look at your total daily consumption, max power required and distribution of usage.

Our systems are exceptionally scalable - one can start with a very small backup only system and enhance it later with solar production. Additional solar production and storage can always be added.

Start with the essentials - and upgrade the system over time - even up to a completely off-grid solution.

The 3 basic system configurations:

  • Grid-Tie
    • Grid-Tie is by far the most cost-effective option with the shortest return on investment (under 3 years).
    • Your solar system will generate power during the day and supply electricity to your requirements as first priority.
    • Outside sun hours or when power usage exceeds the solar power generation, then additional power will automatically be taken from the Eskom grid.
    • These systems do not have any battery storage - and therefore have no backup during grid outages or at night.
    • Primary priority is to reduce electricity usage from the grid and thus lowering electricity costs.
  • Off-Grid
    • This option used to refer to systems that are effectively completely off grid, however, the design with high end 'off-grid' systems now relate to any system with some form of battery storage.
    • These system can be anything from a small backup system to fully off-grid.
    • Design of off-grid systems are specifically towards maximum self-consumption - with the grid being a second priority power source.
    • Battery storage can be designed for use only during grid outages or for full or partial daily use.
    • Priority is to reduce electricity bill and have backup during grid outages.
  • Hybrid
    • Hybrid systems simply involves using a grid-tie inverter combined with an off-grid DC inverter to optimize solar production.
    • Effectively having the same functionality as off-grid systems - just a different component design in the background.
    • Very effective for larger installations.
    • Battery storage can be designed for use only during grid outages or for full or partial daily use.
    • Priority is to reduce electricity bill and have backup during grid outages.

Legislation is also heading towards allowing surplus generation feeding back into the grid for credits - our systems are able to allow this by simply changing some configuration settings.

We will only sell high quality, efficient and approved components and will never attempt to compete with cheap imported products - these products are often not approved for use in SA and likely have no service agents available should something go wrong..
All our components are fully guaranteed for at least 5 years with local agents and service centers available.

Good quality and professionally designed systems are sustainable and scalable and can be expanded according to your future requirements or budget.

One can consider to start with a small system to power all your critical requirements (lights, security systems), allowing you to continue with most of your normal activities without being affected by power outages or load shedding - and at the same time reduce your monthly electricity bill.

Immediately on installing a solar power system you will add capital value to your property – effectively your electricity usage is now an asset and not an expense and thus does not even need to pay for itself in cost saving as the capital value already increased your property value.(though you will realize a return on investment based only on monthly cost saving as well).
